Overview
Following Tropical Cyclone Jasper in December 2023, the Mossman-Daintree and Mossman-Mt Molloy road corridors needed significant reconstruction. NQ Project Partners provided embedded engineering and construction management support to principal contractor Albem Operations on this $32.8M–$37.8M DRFA funded recovery project.
The challenge
The corridor suffered significant landslip and geotechnical damage, requiring major stabilisation works and drainage and pavement resilience improvements across multiple damaged formations, all under the scrutiny that comes with government funded disaster recovery work.
Our approach
Matt Pollock served as Construction Manager, with an NQ Project Partners site engineer embedded onsite since May 2025, integrated directly into Albem Operations' existing project structure rather than operating as a separate delivery entity.
Our solution
Our team delivered safety reporting, Earned Value Management based cost control and forecasting, and day to day construction oversight, supporting the reconstruction of stabilisation works, drainage and pavement across the damaged corridor sections.
Key outcomes
Embedded engineering support since May 2025
$32.8M–$37.8M in DRFA funded recovery works supported
Major geotechnical stabilisation, including soil nailing and piling at slip sites
Delivered within Albem Operations' existing project structure, not as a separate entity
